Makes me wanna leave my SC14 on the shelf just a bit longer. . .

Can you write this off on tax as 'Research', or an 'Educational' expense?

Very Impressive!

Well, at least you didn't have a problem with the starter motor...

yeah that was lucky. This was number two, so it would have missed the starter and the alternator. I don't know if a standard type overbore (.040,.060) would be enough to get rid of the gouges in the bore wall. I'm getting quite a collection of broken A series bits.

WTF???

thats no good Bart! was that a total disintergration of the piston? i saw the other pic of the valve, or the lack there of! did all the bits end up in the sump?

That savage!

What improvements are you going to make to stop this from happening again?

the head off the valve is sitting in between the rod and the counter weight on the crankshaft. all the debris will be in the sump. there will be more pics once i get the remains of the engine out of the car.

Will you go with forged pistons next time? They should hold up to the supercharger.

.020 wont fix those gouges. They are quite deep.

Forgies are a bit outside my budget unfortunately.
