From the Salesman book
Left scale: Crankshaft Horsepower
Right scale: Torque
Lower curve: Fuel consumption rate
Bottom scale: Engine Rotation (RPM)

Just like the latest engines: 80% of peak torque is available from 1200-5800 RPM.

and optimum fule eonemy is between 3 and 4 grand. witch makes the cost of a 5 speed even more rediculous!

oh, I thought that it was using less fuel at 6000 RPM? :P

Imagine those figures with higher comp and dedicated LPG.
Why Nissan went with other engines is a joke :)
I would have love to seen the A series in a 1.6-1.8 ltr
form with direct fuel injection and all alloy construction.
Keep the pushrods and add another inlet valve like Gm
has done to one of its v8s.
Simplicity, nothing beats it. Well expect ecu controlled FI.

 Re: A12 Engine Performance Curve
I'm pretty sure this does NOT mean that the A12 uses less gas at 6,000 RPM. Usually these graphs are fuel consumption/hp or something like that bspfe -- it is a rate, not a specific amount.

A12 will use less fuel at lower RPMs. However, from this graph will learn that if you needed x HP to climb a specific hill (and had a choice of 3rd gear at 3000, or 1st gear at 6000 RPM), the lower RPM would do it more efficiently.

 Re: A12 Engine Performance Curve
Ok, here's what the legend says:
燃料消費率(g/PS・h)

Translation: Fuel consumption (g/PS · h)
PS = DIN horsepower (Pferdestärke = horse strength)

In other words, gallons per horsepower-hour, the rate of fuel consumption. Since the full-throttle HP is different at various RPM, the actual fuel used varies.
