looks adjustable length
but arnt the rubbers there to allow movement, must have too much suspension travel? i.e. monster truck

Good guess, you might be right. They were on Yahoo Auctions, without any explanation of the purpose.

They are adjustable castor rods for the front end.
Cheers Feral Errol.

Errol's spot on (as usual) the spherical joint will limit caster change under hard braking.

I would reckon thet thy're out of a track car with limitted suspension movement

what do ya mean errols right, i said they were adjustable like 6mnths ago, i just pressumed everyone knew they were castor rods

i still dont get what the bloody joint does, how does that help castor under braking?
and if it has limited movement then whats the point?

oh and how come this has come up in the latest listings of photos? and that drag'n wagon too?

 Re: Pivoting strut rods
Stock bushes are designed for noise insulation and to allow the castor rod to pivot on the chasiss mount during suspension movement. The disadvantage is that this movement causes castor change and resultant toe change when braking hard.

By solid mounting with much harder bushes on the chassis the rod end absorbs the small amount of movement in the rod from vertical movement of the control arm while preventing fore aft movemnt under braking.
