it was setup and the carby changed to run turbo already, so i figure why bother playing with linkages and jets and stuff when its just temporary anyway

ree-spec!
I think I can say, without fear of contradiction that you are a good keen man...

the 2 litre saloon class has just opened up the rules to allow 1270cc turbo's.

Trouble is, you have to run at the same weight as the 2 litre cars (1050kg with driver) and you'd need 280hp to get near the sharp end of the field....

yeah I agree stirlingmac, there's a load of potential in the idea. I've been thinking of doing this for a while - ever since we built an A14 turbo 1200 coupe a few years ago - turbo was way too big, but it was incredible when it came on boost!

In Aus, Improved Production class apply a factor of 1.7 to your base capacity for forced induction, and put you in whatever capacity class you end up in. There's also a 2% tolerance on the class limits, so to run as under 2000cc (or 1601-200cc) you only have to come in under 2040cc. divide that by 1.7 and the base capacity of the engine has to be under 1200cc - standard A12 is only 1171 and .030" is 1196cc so it's dead simple.

A mate of mine, Craig (NoPSI) who bought my old 1200 sedan is in the process of doing this now, and I'm really thinking hard about it again too - I have a couple of options for turbos in the shed already, and a Celica 5spd to put behind an A12.

Those manifolds and box look just like Clintons. Using his as a template ?

Keep us informed on progress.

 Re: tt a-12
well um theres a good reason for that

they are his , i bought em off him, he has also said he will come and help me make the manifold to fit turbs to the a-15 with injection, cant wait for that

i will take full pics when i do the a-15 the a-12 was a tempory thing, the car will cop a bit of a clean up when the a-15 goes in too
