 Re: Buff
wat does being a ute have to do with getting rid of the battery tray? ill be relocating my battery to the tray soon.....
the fact that id have to move it anyway due to my brake booster being very long makes me think itd be better to get it out of the engine bay than to stuff around moving it to fit.

Buff,
Firstly, great job on the engine bay mate. Top marks all around. Mine's exactly the same colour but not as fresh with the paint.
Just one thing though, I removed the battery tray to underneath the tray and behind the passengers seat. removing the battery from the engine bay really free's up space and really gives a clean and uncongested look to the bay. It also helps with wiring, I now only have a total of 6 wires that can be seen in the engine bay and two of those run to the on/off swith on my supercharger. Just hoping I could help you with your project.
Cheers,
Stu.

 Re: Buff
firstly I have relocated the coil and resistor inside the cabin and is tucked up out of sight behind the dash. All wires to and from the coil can be run under the dash and under the carpet and passenger seat back to the battery. I bought a 2m long positive battery cable and have run that from the starter motor into the gearbox tunnel where it then goes inside the cabin. Inside the cabin the positive battery cable runs under the carpet, under the seat and exits from a purpose drilled hole with grommet from the back of the cabin. This hole is drilled behind the passenger seat and underneath the line of the tray. It's a little bit of work but nothing you couldn't accomplish. All you need is a few longer wires. I've found that locating the battery where I have, although very minimal, has helped with the balance of the car. If I had a digital camera I could take a couple of shots for you. When my tax check comes back I'll be getting one.
Let me know if you need anything else.
Stu.

Looks nice, nice contrast with the engine, also, place attention to rubber patrs, its nice to see black rubber against nice paint, never allow rubber gromets/parts to get sprayed, that looks nasty.
I like the yellow bumpers, I like them more painted than chromed.

lookin good! Its good to see you have painted the radiator support black, a downfall of alot of car builders is to paint it a bright colour there. Well done

Looks good!

Should've taken out that battery tray, though...

Well, unless it's a ute.

Yep tens_and_twenties she's a ute, so the tray had to stay, i'll tray and make all the wiring as neat as possible though.

I still have to paint the brake lines, put in new hoses etc so it should come up alright.

Just want the motor in though....getting a bit impatient
