Just bolt em in, and pull into shape, only if they are a close fit. If they are a really bad fit, return them and get another one. My guards were ok, but one guard needed a few changes to make it fit, the inner skin that makes up the front section that the chrome work fits on was way out of shape. I've also heard about them being too long in height.

But for the price, they are pretty darn good.
