 Re: No rot,..Hey what!
After being without coolant [just water] while my brother had it, plus being unused for many years, i had expected the worst, but corrosion is almost non existant. This is going to be sweet.
I will post an "after" shot when i get it back. The burnt No. 2 exhaust valve can be made out if you look for it.

Dodge, just go to the "View" tab along the top bar of your browser window. The drop down menu should have a option called "folder options" (in windows XP its "choose details"). Click the folder options button then you should be able to scroll down the lits to an option called "show file extensions". Check this option and apply it, your should then be able to change it... not sure if thats the solution to your problem, anyhow hope this helped.

Thanks simmodat1200.
Your info was right on the money, but this did not fix the problem as you suggested. This lower case thing was the subject of a thread a while back & ALL of my previous pictures had lower case extentions.

I get error code 1008, but i have not been successfull in finding out what it means. The file & image size are within specs, but no go.
Any [constructive] suggestions?

GX head? It looks like an open-chamber head to me.

If you look at the top part of the picture, above the center bolt hole, between the inner pushrod holes you will see a small hole. Thats the drilling for the early "A" series rocker oiling, so it's clearly an A10, or a 1200 head, It also has oval ports, so it really is a 1200 GX head.
I bought it new about 20 years ago, & still have the box it came in, & the part number is the right one for the 1200GX.

If i can find out what's stopping me from loading the "after" photo, you can get a better look at the combustion chamber.

Edit
Problem fixed, picture now posted.

Ah yes, on closer look I can see it is not open-chambered. The bottom half shows the "heart-shaped" part. The top half of the chamber (around the spark plug) isn't too clear in this picture, but it very clear in the other one:
