 Re: 1200 vintage racecar
HI,
It's my car, run out of the Turn Right Racing team shop in Wisconsin USA.
The car has been a racecar since new, and is currently run in Vintage events in the Midwest at tracks like Road America, Blackhawk Farms, Gratton, hopefully this year Mid Ohio.

It currently has an A12 with GX head full race cam with roller rockers, larger valves, forged pistons, special rods......
NISMO ultra close ratio gearbox
H190 limited slip rear end.
NSIMO strust with 240Z brakes front and rear. Fully welded cage
The chassis is completely rust free (NEVER any rust).
I'll post more photos shortly if anyones interested. It's a great racecar running primarily against minis and sprites. No shortage of Horspower. We also race a 510 and 240Z. Small, Medium and Large as it were!
thanks

my red 1200 has h190 D,

so i believe it will fit, you need either flares or fwd offset rims to cover the tires though

its 90mm wider all up

 Re: 1200 vintage racecar
You are correct it is wider, and my car has FWD offest wheels. I will try to get some photos this weekend.

Along with the difference in width, since it is a larger R&P if the car is lowered, the housing can hit on the body! my car has flat springs and a 1" lowering block and it does hit over bumps (modifications on the way!)

The history of my car is somewhat interesting, at the risk of boring you all,
I am the third owner, and was told that the car was stolen off the new car lot in 1972 by some teenagers that did'nt get far before running into a curb. I believe they damaged the left rear quarter panel. As a result of the damage, the dealer was not allowed to sell it as a new car, so they sold it to a gentleman that turned it into a racecar.
He raced it from new until the mid to late '80's then sold it to a friend, he raced it for several years and sold it to me!
I had the car painted and put a VERY nice roll cage in it, and have been vintage racing it! When I got it the odometer said 6300 miles!
Current configuaration is:
13:1 compression, GX head dual solex
Nismo ultra-close ratio 4 speed, H-190 limited slip, Z car front and rear brakes

The original owner is still alive and has told me that he won approx. 70% of all the races he entered with the car!

I will be racing again at Blackhawk Farms in South Beloit, Illinois June 14and 15th

Thanks

I too had never seen this car before, yet a pic of Gixxers 120y pops up in the corner everyday.

interesting reading. i've seen this pic appear once in awhile but always thought it was a za car. somehow "zimdars" sounds like a za sponser/vendor
