I would imagine the mythical GX head has larger oval intake ports.

According to my Datsun book, the combustion chamber volume of the 1200GX cylinder head is 29.1cc, + or - .5cc while the standard, round port head volume is 27.5cc + or - .3cc
 I would have sworn it was the other way around, but thats what the book says.
 
 I guess that if you ran flat tops under a stock round port head, you would have slightly more compression than the stock GX
