I use this bare block for all my trial fitting. At least its easy to lift in and out without an engine crane

Shaun they are stock Ca18 engine brakets the drivers side is cast steel and the passenger side is pressed steel. Every Ca18 that I have seen has been the same even CA18DE.
Demojob I used to trial fit in my car but I have a jig now so the engine block just makes sure that the sump clears the crossmember and the angle of mounting points is perfect.
