I'll be putting these on for Mt Cotton on sunday, i'm also going out to the sprint at Queensland Raceway on saturday morning, just for an R&D session(for those who have smaller kranial capacities then others this means a testing session)

We'll see how good my coupe REALLY goes!

Stevo, these tyres are the control tyre for the improved production car series and i have seen Wayne Wakefield achieve some INCREDIBLE grip coming over the dogleg at oran park. This part of the track is formidable and the cars weight changes from left to right whilst undertaking a pitch in attitude downwards. It was very spectaucular, all on A032R's!!!

Probably a silly question, but can you get away with those sort of tyres on the street?

I'm not asking "would they be good for the street?". I'm asking "is it legal to use these tyres on the street?"

Cheers.

does it say competition use only or not for highway use.
if it has a speed rating and a standards marking, not saying any of the above, I would pass it as a WOF inspector

Yes, they are DOT approved, road legal race tyres. It would be a very expensive habit and a real waste of very soft rubber though.

Cool. I wondered about that.

You are right about a waste of soft rubber.

I think a good set of road tires is what my car requires. If I get interested in hanging it sideways on a track.. I'll buy a second set of wheels and tires.

Thanks.

They even LOOK to be as sticky as bubble gum on a hot day,... & that'll stick your sandshoe to the pavement.

Chris,
the Falken Azenis would be OK for a road car that's driven on weekends or whatever. They have a 200 treadwear (compared to 60 for the Yokohamas) which won't give you the outright grip of a real race spec tyre, but are much better than any normal street tyre because of the stiff sidewall and large tread blocks. The trade-off is comfort and noise. OK if its not a daily driver, and for the occasional track day. I had a set years ago.
