the bloody thread that the speedo cable mounts to on the box sheared off as the cable was resting on the crossmember and as the gearbox mount rubber moved it pushed against the cable, so close to clicking back round to zero, i would have liked to see a 1200 with 0 miles on the clock

How does the trip meter work? Is the little knob (below right of the speedo) rotated or pushed in to reset it?

I think this speedo wasn't available in USA. I would love to have a trip meter.

I gave my other coupe dash to Mely in Brisbane. He's a good bloke.

The knob is the trick, the trip meter works by turning it round clockwise. It matches up the numbers, and you keep turning it until the zeros come round to the front.

If I find one in my travels I'll bring it to the USA next time. I must admit that these are getting harder to find in wrecking yards.

I had mine turn over the zeros a few weeks after I got mine...
I actually missed seeing it though..
