Visible in this seriously croped photo are...

Houndstooth interior. [There were several interior options]
Head rests, adjustable, in a nice comfy size. [choice of material too]
Sports option steering wheel.
Matching sports option gear knob.
Chrome tip for exhaust.
Tailpipe muffler with twin chrome-tip pipes.
Electric radio antenna.
Matt black bullet mirrors.
Dash top clock. There was also a dash top tach for cars with instrument cluster clock.
Instrument cluster mounted Tachometer. Alternately, a cluster mounted clock was also available.
8 track Tape deck sterio with one of the speakers visible.
Fog lights. There were two sizes & both were also available as driving lights.
Number plate frames.[Japanese domestic size]
Special rubber pads for the front bumper. [Rally use?]
Special badging. [two types]

This is only a part of the full list.
Ahh yes, the KB10 must truly be the chosen ride of the great one on that wonderous highway in the sky.
It's no ordinary car.

Those seats are truley retro! I would love to get my seats upholstered in that pattern they look awsome, and look comfy too!!

'And for the car enthusiast, you can get the mean looking and sounding twin pipe exhaust '

Oh and what do those badges represent, just another style for the Sunny Coupe or another branch?? Whats the one on the left say do you know?

Dave

I'll post a close up of the badges later, & they were fitted to the grille. I'm hoping to get at least some of the writing thats with these images translated & i will know more about them then.

I was truly bewildered when i went over the brochures with a magnifyer & a fine tooth comb. So many parts & so few cars to fit them to. So many items that came in a number of diferent varieties.

Many of these parts do not appear in the parts book, so they would have been accessories, but were shown in the sales brochure none the less.

Yep, electric radio antenna. Again, i think that this must have been a genuine Datsun accessory instead of a factory option. Thats it located just above the twin tailpipes of the rear muffler, & just to the left of the fog lights.

Datsun must have really wanted the coupe to be the flagship of the small Datsun line as many of these parts seem to be Coupe-only items, & what better flagship could they have chosen. None, says I.
It's no ordinary car.

Ooh! ooh! I have one of those dash-top clocks!

Its in good nick too - not sure if it works though. It wasn't fitted to my dash, it must've been from another car because there's no hole...

TC

Edit - PS, Chris how about this. I have 7 door trims in total. 6 are the same - the strip across the bottom is plastic. The other one has a totally aluminium strip. Strange? Different years perhaps?

Re: KB10. Just a few options & accessories.
My dashboard is currently denuded of the crash padding & the hole for the clock is clearly visible in the metal, so it is pressed into this panel during manufacture.

I have been seeking one of these clocks for a while, so if you decide that you won't be using it, then please drop me a line. I can be very realistic about transactions for those things that i seek.
There were about six part numbers for the clock, but it probably covered two diferent vendors & a number of diferent electrical terminations & supercessions.
The clock was original fitment in JDM Sunny DeLuxe models & was available as an option for all others. Oddly enough, it seems to have been an option-only in the Sunny coupe. It was never available in Australia.

As for the door trim, my book quotes only one number [per side] for the "assembly - finish, door, black", so it would seem that Aussie KB10's used only one door trim. The diferent one that you have is either a repaired /retrimmed item, or it may possibly have come from a door that was in one of those containers full of Jap parts that came to Australia by the shipload in the 80's

All models seem to have the pressed cutout for the clock etc. My VB10 Deluxe has ( should say had ) an ashtray fitted, the same as in the 2door sedan pictured below;
On yahoo auction - dont know if its the original dash pad though. On my wagon it stuck out towards the driver, just like the guages. I dig the column shift manual though

Its been ages since I looked at them, but my wagon's door trims also had a chrome trim about 8mm wide. I cant remember if it ran across the bottom or not, but it was all flakeing off and underneath the flakes it was just clear plastic.

All models seem to have the pressed cutout for the clock etc.

Since the clock was a standard fitment in the Sunny DeLuxe Sedans, & since the dashboard pressing was the same for all non-coupes, i'd say that they all have the hole for the clock.

The car in the picture is a '67 model & the distinguishing features include the three speed trans & the dash pad.
While the three speed was available right to at least the end of 1200 production, it was not much liked in Australia & from the '68 model onwards, it was not used in Australian models, so any Aussie 1000 wirh a three speed is a '67 model.

The small Dash pad was unique to the '67 model in two door Sedans & in Vans, which were the only two models produced that year. From the introduction of the '68 model in Sept '67 the pad changed & was used in Sedans [both types] & Vans untill the end of production. The Ute had a diferent one again.
