From a KB10 sales brochure, it's a close up of the deck lid medalion & it shows one of the available GT stripe patterns. [10k faster with this?]
KB10, it's no ordinary car.

The factory GT stripe , now were talking my language.

Tell me Dodgeman, what is the reason the 1200 never came with so many cool options?

Man, you make the Datsun 1000 seem so cool Some of these 1000 options were Japan-only right?

I think the 1200 had just as many. They had dual-muffler setups, clocks, three kinds of driving lights, stripe kits, including US stripes, etc. Problem is we don't have the right brochures posted to the site (stirlingmac could tell us for sure ... )

Well. i can't say for sure, Sidedraught, but maybee the later models just don't measure up to the rare & much loved KB10.
You might be surprised to know that they were also available with a matt black bonnet too, for serious competition users. Picture coming soon.
I'm sure that every right thinking person would have to agree, it's no ordinary car.

They are cool Ddgonzal, & you're right, not all of these options & accessories were available in Australia, but even so, it's no ordinary car.

The 1200 didnt need all these options to make it look good. They were already a visual improvement over the 1000 so the decided they wouldnt add tacky extras.

Why no Doctor Spock, no such a thing was ever made. Even the 'economy' models had the style, the grace, the verve, the passion, & all could be enhanced with these little luxuries as time & money permitted. Even Elle McPherson started out as a plain-Jane girl.
An inspiration to us all,.. thats why they are no ordinary car. Well, at least I feel inspired.

I wonder if all those options where just to take focus off the tail lights and wrap around bars.

Hey - the taillights rock! It's an acquired taste, true, but a big improvement on the later 4 door lights I think.

They're not so 'ordinary'

Personally, the wrap around rear bumper is good looking to me, and I have admired those Mustang tail lights since the first time I saw them 20 years ago.

Yep, some prefer to 'no bumper' look, but they're way better with them. Ther rear looks too high without...
