Re: The little ute that could This little monster has been up for sale a few times lately. It sits on a Suzuki Sierra chassis and is powered by the A12 still. It was in Tasmania last time it went up for sale. Or is it a different one I am thinking of?

Re: The little ute that could I thought it was in Tas too Don. It has moved around alot, as you said.
This would be such a hit in Papua New Guniea. You could loose a Datsun down a pothole there.....at least this one could climb out.
The last time this was brought up it got quite a grilling from this club. I quite like it and I'd love to own it.

Re: The little ute that could this would be the only way you'd get me to own a 1200 ute ... all fun and practicality rolled into one !!

Re: The little ute that could Not absolutely sure about practicality.
I remember either the front or rear wheel arch was slightly before the wheel so if you actually did hit the road hard there could be some damage (maybe it was another car similar).
Nevertheless I would definitely try this out, given the opportunity.
This still kept the A12 didn't it?

Re: The little ute that could there was one for sale not long ago up here, i think it was a red or blue one with a supercharged ca18 in it coupled to an automatic.

Re: The little ute that could yeah your right chris, the ebay one in tassie had a prooblem with the chassis being too long and the rear wheel was not centred in realtion to the wheel arch

Re: The little ute that could I love it. Not as practical as a stock ute, but very interesting.

Re: The little ute that could i guy i know up here in Brisbane , did exactly the same thing, it was powered by a 302 windsor, with a C4 auto, it was on a Diahatsu Rocky chassis. his biggest problem was breaking the transfer case. his was painted in midnight blue, he did the conversion about 10yrs ago. Re: The little ute that could It's coming up for sale soon & if the buyer asks nicely, I suspect that a roll bar could be supplied as an optional extra. These utes are very nicely built & I'm glad that I could showcase them for him.

Re: The little ute that could personally i'd prefer to see the chassis a lot closer to the body, even if it meant cutting out the gaurds a fair bit to make the wheels fit...
but thats just me. The thought has crossed my mind before, interesting to see it actually happening.

Re: The little ute that could Photographed in the low, late afternoon sun, you can see the chassis detail. A nice side step will help to hide it. It should be a fun ride.
