All rust cut and welded. Cant believe how much the 1200s rust in this area.

 Re: Front rail progress shot
I had a slight idea of what may lurk beneath but did not really believe people when they said 1200s rust heaps in this area. Every bit of rust was cut out and rewelded all with 1.6mm, which believe me makes it very very stiff. Hopefully not too stiff. Had to replace that section of the rail, bit of floor and where the wheel arch joined the firewall. You should have seen the cover up job. Fibreglass fill with chicken wire and what not for extra strength. Wouldnt even know it was there. Very good coverup job. The only thing that alerted me was as while ago when i fitted larger wheels and decided to bang the firewall back a bit. At least this time i know its done right, or almost right. At least the whole front is held to gether with solid steel rather than fibre glass. Thats scary when i think about it.

One more piece to fit and this sides done and the other side awaits.

Cheers
Daniel
