 Re: My New Carbys
look good mate, I picked up a set of these for $70, manifold for $10 and K&N filters for $25 at a swapmeet last year, not a bad carb, if you can find tuning stuff for them.
I believe they came off 18rg's so they'd need some changing to suit an A-series.

 Re: My New Carbys
Im thinking of either taking my a12 out and rebuilding it with these on, but prefer to sorce down an a15 to put them on. So if anyone has or knows where to get a manifuld for these to an a12 or a15 please let me know, there the same stud pattern as Webber DCOE carbys. Also i am lookinf for an a15.

Cheers

Get your engine/head first. You can still get the manifolds if you shop around.

It would be bad if you get a round hole early manifold, and then get a bargain price on an A15..

After pulling them completely apart (not the butterflies), soak the non-plated bits (non-gold coloured) bits in some coca-cola overnight, or soak it in some CLR for 5-10 minutes. Keep an eye on the CLR, it could probably dissolve a carby overnight, be careful.

Then soak them in some Kero for a little while. They'll come up nice after a quick scrub.

You could get the gold coloured bits 'replated' in passivated zinc, shouldn't cost more than $50. And they'd look like new.
