My one buddy used to have a 510 180 SSS, and never seized to amaze new passengers by doing almost 100km/h in "1st" and 140 in "2nd".

In South Africa, this know would work perfectly in our old Pulsars. My Ute has the reverse, where your 5th gear is.

That knob is good for a 30% fuel economy improvement -- 50mpg vs 38mpg for a standard 1200. Check the ad.

Or you could use an old 8-ball, just drill a hole in the bottom and stick it on the shifter.

 Re: My dogleg knob
Provided through the extreme good graces of one of our US members, to whom I am deeply gratefull, I now have a genuine Nissan/Datsun knob with the right shift pattern.
These are a bit hard to find around here, & this will replace the original B210 GX 5 speed knob that came with my trans all those years ago.
It met it's end when I loaned my car to my brother,[for three years] who treated it like a dog kennel by taking his mutt with him.
It got bored when left alone, so it chewed up my seat belts & GX5 gear knob. This will be a more than worthy replacement.

Thank you Mat.

 Re: My dogleg knob
These US models used this pattern & this knob looks surprisingly like the one in the picture.

I would be inclined to speak in very reverent tones to some of our US members to see if it was possible to source one from there.
I was extraordinarily fortunate to learn of this one & to discover that it was available, but if you don't ask, no-one knows that you are looking for these things.

As for a part number, ... No, I do not know it.

David, thank you for allowing me to hijack your image, I hope. [I haven't asked him yet]
