This is a pic of my new project, 1967 1000 coupe. it looks real bad but is actually a very good sound shell. Only three or four small bits of rust and one small ding. The car came with the cut outs from another coupe to repair the rust and enough spares to build four cars! Its off to get the repair sections welded in this weekend and then off to the sand blasters. It will be then be put on a rotisserie for a complete underbody beutification. I will keep you all informed of the progress, motor choice, paint colour, etc, etc. Cheers. adam. |

Re: The long hard road ahead Hey there Terry, unfortunatly the car only came with one set of trims and only one boot lid, which all need replacing. but there is stacks of everything else... a few sedan bits too i think. Today i moved three ute and one trailer loads of stuff which is all heaped on the shed floor... Guess what i'll be doing for the next three weeks!! Cheers. Adam.

Re: The long hard road ahead Haha - know the feeling! I have 3 sets of door trims. Most are knackered, but the two pair that are in otherwise excellent condition - some dumba$$ cut speaker holes in 'em

Re: The long hard road ahead Mmmmm, another KB10. Good on you, the world needs more of these & there are enough coupe owners out there to help out whenever you might need it. Welcome to our world.
Have a look at your chassis number. If it is up to KB10-080,000, then it is a 1969 model [Oct '68 to June '69] If it is higher than this number, it is a '70 model [July '69 to Dec. '69] Coupes were made for 15 months only & there were no definitive 1967 or '68 models, but the use of 1967 front guards, blinker lights, grille & headlight rims would certainly make it unique. Looking forward to the progress pics.
KB10, the coupe you always wanted.

Re: The long hard road ahead O.K. its model no is kb10-080 906. I just assumed it was an earlier one. I have had 3 or four 1000s before including a panel van but never a coupe! Cheers. Adam.

Re: The long hard road ahead Wow, the chassis number of the first 1970 model first 1970 was KB10-080,001, so yours is the 906th of the 1970 model's to be made, & since the numbers run to over 105,000, it would be reasonable to assume that yours was probably made in July of '69, & quite possibly in the first week of production of this model.
From your nick, I will assume that you are well versed in GX stuff. Well, 1000's respond very nicely to a suitably tweaked GX. Very nicely indeed. It's the weight reduction you see. Congratulations on a great chioce of car, for as we all know,.... It's no ordinary car.
