Re: 13b motor mount It's all mig welded, as it turns out, I'm going to box it in this weekend.

Re: 13b motor mount I was thinking about boxing in the top and bottom, it would make getting the motor mount off a pain, but might add some more strength. Think that would work?

Re: 13b motor mount That sould be fine like it is, but because it's a soild mount the bolts will keep loosening from vibration.
That is what you want, but besure that you keep checking them from time to time.

Re: 13b motor mount I'm sure it will be fine for the short term, but I know an engineer would never pass it.
I'd be inclined to have the weight supported from underneath. You may never have problems but it's something to think about. It seems that the piece between the engine and the tube running across the engine bay will be the weakest link, as that steel looks a bit thin there.

Re: 13b motor mount Nice job.
That was my idea of mounting as well.

Re: 13b motor mount I don't know what sort of driving you are going to do, but I can see most of the normal driving forces involved will be put through the engine to bar mount if you know what I mean. I'd want to make sure those welds are exceptionaly good, or use some gussets to strengthen the area. I guess I just like to over-engineer things a little.
Apart from that, it looks nice, and it's good to see someone else having a crack at a rotor conversion.
