I took my front seats to the nice seat doctor who surgicly transplanted some new padding, fixed the saggy springs & gave it a skin graft of new vinyl & soft velour.
Mmmmmmmm, comfy.

No I cant, but your forthcoming generous financial contribution is going to fix that, isn't it. Or don't you have the balls to put your money where your mouth is.

Re: A cure for the achin
I found this picture of Datsun 1200 GX coupe seats [thanks Shoey] & was surprised by the similarity in appearance of the trim to mine.

The shape of the back section seems a little taller & they look to taper at the top, although this might be a product of the back section insert being straight up. Mine are direct copies of the 1973 Deluxe coupe pattern.

The headrests seem to disguise their true shape a little, but does anyone know what the material in the 'inserts is? Is it simply a different coloured vinyl, or is it something a little more 'upmarket'

The passenger seat was undamaged, so I now have an intact original front seat 'skin' in near perfect condition that is surplus to my needs.
If you are doing a restoration on a 1200 coupe & need original seat material, then drop me an e-mail.

I may well have an undamaged original back seat, complete, for a 1200 coupe, available in a month or two as well.

Very nice. I haven't seen a seat of 1200 seats this nice in years.

These coupe seats from Japan (aussie coupe?) have a nice style. The sedan seats are quite different, though I've seen this kind in many sedans.

Re: A cure for the achin
The velour is not an original material in 1200's, but it is stitched in the original pattern. I just wanted to 'plush it up' a little. Of course, now I have to do the rear seat to match, so I am attempting to source a freebie sad-but-serviceable rear seat to retrim as it would be a waste to do it to a perfectly good original seat.

It sure feels a lot better than the original as it had become an instrument of torture.
