I know you can put an A14 head on an A12 but can you use the same manifolds? can you use A14 manifolds? what mods do you have to do to the A14
to make it work???

Yes this is corrct. The A12a was first introduced in late 79. It has the same deck height as the A12 and slightly larger bore at 75mm or 2.953". Only 1mm smaller than A14/15's
but 2mm larger than the A12/13.

Midget, what makes you say the A12a has a cast crank? I thought ALL A series cranks were forged?

Does anyone know if it's possible to machine the 1200 front and rear hubs to
the 5 stud pattern?

A12A has a different bore (slightly larger, giving 1237cc instead of 1169cc), and lacks the lovely forged crank found in the A12. The A12A crank
is a casting.

The A12A is just a later model A12. It was used from the 120Y/B210 models onward. It differs from the A12 with the engine mount position and the distributor is in the centre of
the block like its bigger versions the A14 and A15. If it has oval intake ports it has a GX cylinder head.

hey, hows it going, its for the 4 speed manual tranny is that right? if so, its on the left hand side, bout half way up, you cant miss it, like a square plug. i use Castrol VMX
in mine, it gives unsurpassed shifting, and keeps it all quiet, the gearbox takes about 1.2 litres.
if its the auto then i think you just pour it in the dip stick hole, it takes about 5.5 liters.
while your at it check your steering box level, sometimes it can be empty and you wont notice, but it certianly feels oh so sweet when its full.
yeah, have a good one mate, hope it all goes well.
choice from chris.
