Making progress. Crank and cam/lifters are installed. Is it necessary to move the rings around each cylinder before installation to get the best ring gap per specs? If so I do that with all of the rings or just the top 2? Also I noticed a B stamped on the rear main cap. I have another A15 block that has an A stamp. What is the difference if any? One more item, if there is a diagram on how to space out the ring gaps please attach that. Thanks!!

Any reason why the crankshaft bearings for Caps 2 and 4 have an oil passage hole? They don't line up with any other oil passageway. The originals are the same.

Text above diagram says "Colored Section". I will go with the instructions and face the channels down.

I have had this felpro gasket set for a while now. HS 21199 PT-4. Any difference between this and the HS21199 PT-1?

Thanks DD. So the GX head will have proper oil circulation for the rocker assembly? If this oil passage is not being used then this passageway is not used at all and remains dry?

Plan is to use GX head on A15 block. GX head came from A12 engine which has oil passage opening. Do I need to send the A15 back to the machine shop to drill this out?

Thanks Vixen/DD. For some reason my machine shop guy told me install the oil ring spacer with the ends pointing up. Any idea why? The instructions say to install the ends pointing down.

Ok guys I scored a set of Nissan piston rings for my A15 engine. Want to make sure I install them correctly. If there is a good link on this forum for installation please provide it. Question on the oil ring spacer. The image that shows the closeup of the rings...you can see the split on the spacer. Is that oriented correctly? Also on the top ring, instructions say to face stamp up. I have standard size rings because I only honed the block, so the "S" is facing up. The second ring shows the tapered end facing down. This all look good?

I have one of those front dizzy A12 blocks in my shop as well. It is easy to maneuver around. Rallytwit mentioned he has one of those A12A engines which is a bored out A12 fitted to the later model 210 car. Is it as light as the stock A12?

DD...same thing for A15 bolts? No need to look for replacements? Plan to torque down the crankshaft soon. Also is it necessary to use locktite?
