US$37k? Puhleeze. Seller must have been infected with the Barrett-Jackson Syndrome virus. ("I saw a mint 1970 Plymouth Superbird go for $406,000 at auction, so my (fill in the blank here) must be worth (fill in outrageous price here))." While it has "zero (visible) rust", it should be noted that the driver and passenger floor pans have been replaced with non-OEM sheet metal. This coupe is a very nice survivor example, but it's missing the engine undertray along with the OEM vinyl floor matting and the unobtanium tweed-like tunnel carpet. Fitting new suspension bushings to replace the aged, cracked originals along with detailing the dash, installing a rare dealer installed tach, replacing the damaged glove box door and maybe showing us a minty fresh dash pad might help somewhat to justify the stratospheric price tag. Just picking nits here, but the steering might be a bit vague, since the steering box isn't hooked up to the linkage.

Enquiring minds want to know if a sealed, permanently lubed rear axle bearing for our 1200s exists. It's a bit of a PITA to tear into the rear end every 30k miles to lube the OEM bearings, so a permanently lubed bearing would be a nice upgrade.

Nice find. Used to be available from the NISMO catalog back in the day very early on. Datsun switched over to fabricated steel pans when these went NLA. Quite rare nowadays, beautiful, delicate. This one has seen an...interesting...life. The original side 'wings' on the pan seem to have been cut off and a plate welded over to seal things up. Perhaps it was installed in a 1000 series Datsun at some point? (tighter fit?)

One Weird Trick For Floorpan Plugs |

Got crusty floorpan plugs? Try this one weird trick to rejuvenate them! Buy a quart of Original Flavor ArmorAll, dump it into a container that has a resealable top. Scrape the biggest chunks of gack off your floorpan plugs. Drop the plugs into the ArmorAll, making sure they're completely covered by the ArmorAll. Put the top back on the container and agitate it. ("You're a loser container!" "You ain't worth the plastic that went into molding you!" etc.) Let it sit for a month, coming back occasionally to agitate it again, checking to make sure the plugs are still covered. After a month, pour the mess out, sit with your plugs and a lint-free cloth and clean them off. Most, if not all, of the accumulated years of road gunk should wipe right off and you'll be left with floorpan plugs that are shiny and flexible again.

Nice! Perfect replacement for the ones on your car that flap in the wind because the bottoms are completely rusted away.

Sweeeet! Specs say A12, looks like hot-rodded A14. With a 5-speed trans, this little guy could be a pocket rocket. The metalflake gold steering wheel sealed the deal for me. Wonder how much it is listed for?

Falling under the category of Battered Bondo Bomber is this '71 sedan. Lightly modded A15, 60A trans, no mention of suspension mods, but comes with the requisite Datsun 1200 bungee cord battery hold-down. It also includes the rare tach delete option and L-88 hood option, both very desirable from a performance-oriented standpoint. Listed here on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1970-Datsun-O ... 0473d3:g:FbwAAOSwqOFfIH-g

Not too badly beat up, cool rims, spare A14 included along with a cubic rectal of sheet metal spares. What's not to like? https://chico.craigslist.org/cto/d/chi ... tsun-1200/7161611703.html

Not too badly corroded, has some nifty hop-up content, looks lowered. Seen here on Datsun 1200 U.S. fecesbook site: https://www.facebook.com/groups/196242907224964/Quote: Really don't want to sell it but my dads 1200 needs to go. No low ballers, trades or time wasters please, my dad just passed away and this was his car... He built the A14 in it, which pulls hard in the low and midrange. See video in comments. The car is mechanically solid and a riot to drive. Has upgraded cam, ported and decked head, nice header, odyssey battery, modified stock intake manifold and weber 32/36. Has dogleg 5 speed trans, good clutch and lightened flywheel. Suspension, steering and brakes in decent shape. Eclectic fan and fuel pump. Has a good bit of rust as it was an Oregon car. Would be a fun rolling restoration for someone interested in making it prettier. Front floors have rust holes and there is some through rust on the roof where vinyl top was and in the spare tire well. Window channels seem solid. New front valence and decent left fender included.
