Hard to believe no booster would be needed to pass with today's rules

No need for emissions testing hahaha as long as your using standard computer the engineer already would know what your car emissions are as they needed to be passed n recorded when they first came I to the country, and as for the new cars that STILL have drum brakes, your prob referring to Barinas,Mazda 2, Toyota echoes, there not even pushing 80bhp lol n they way over 1200 each, BUT comparing to A12 to a 1800 injected potentially turbo pushing well above 200hp in stock form, turbo or n/a dose not matter, come on bud who in there right mind wont put disc brakes, I'm guessing you don't need a brake booster either

Please NSW is the hardest/strictest state to get cars passed if it passes here it will pass anywhere with ease

Hey lads, I'm toying up buying a 2nd motor ( project motor ) to swap into my 1200 eventually, I know what's generally involved but I'm confused when clearances are talked about, I want to run 14+ psi so I know I'm gonna need forgies, rods, bearings, I've heard of a few brands and not scared to spend

Is it worth just getting a shop to put it he block together with rods, bearings n all?

Also if I bored out the block can I go ca20det and which pistons can I use?

Cheers boys

A rebuilt A12 with all the goodies would me my choice, don't get me wrong I've got a ca18det n pumps all the way to redline all day, but you start to feel very small an very unsafe after 220hp if something happened, and once that turbo bug bites your always chasing figures and becomes a money pit

But if I had endless cash and cheap local parts, RB25det would be way to go!

Reason for my probs with track was I had much larger front brakes, they kinda stick out not stick in under the guards n they want the track as close as possible to the stock specifications, make sure you use the standard ecu, for emissions pass

Oh and don't touch the standard rear suspension leaf springs are all that's needed to pass, if your thinking of 4 link independent or rear coils, good luck getting it through, no engineer will sign off on it, no tubbing rear chassis

Your gonna need disc brakes all round, it dose not matter which ones you use, but they have to pas several braking tests so you should aim for big/larger brakes, the other thing that was an issue was tyre track, they did not want my front tyres so far apart, i had to figure out how to bring the tyres in by 6 inches 3 each side, and ride height don't lower it, don't go full on exhaust yet make it quite till its passed, no rust anywhere espesh the chassis rails and engine bay don't go bigger than 14 inch rims either

Before you start you will need at least $10,000 maybey more, maybey less depends on how fast you want it to go, crossmembers are sold in SA a place called maddat look them up on the net, I've done this swap in NSW, piss easy work if you are mechanic minded n think ahead of the build, it becomes a puzzle of parts that need putting together, mines a CA18DET, well worth the effort

My 2pence
