the ute shaft is about 15mm too long but i will give that a go thanks guys..

on wiki it shows the h165 shaft and thats the size shaft ive got so what is this off?? thanks

its a one piece and it was off a ute im pretty sure but the unis are alot bigger and the shaft is same dia all the way not stepped down at each end.

Gday,im trying to find out what tailshaft i have.ive put a ute rear end in my coupe and i had to shorten the shaft.now the problem i have is i have damaged this tailshaft and after another one but i cant remember what model datto its off.it has larger unis than a ute shaft and it is same diameter for the total length of it.all other ones have a reduced section each end which makes it harder to shorten.can anyone tell me the one that i currently have and does anyone have one as i need it urgently,racing this weekend but might have to race it with the damaged one for now.any help on this would be great as it has baffled me.cheers nuts

Thanks john for this valuable information i will take this to my head mechanic(haha) and see what we can sort out.altering the timing might be the go,its trial and error and trying different set ups until we get it right.thanks again...

Oh ok i will check the choke sizes and change to electronic dizzy and a good tune and see how she goes..thanks everyone!!

I dont know what size chokes,i will have to pull them apart and have a look.and as for the cam i will look into putting something better in it but dont know what grind.

yes thats whats happening!its good at high rpms but its the power out of cnrs is the problem.like its not bad but still lacking at that low rev range.
