i'm not sure but didn't they bring in rules about L and P platers not being able to drive turbo's, v8's and any car with engine mod's
don't now if it's true or not because it dosn't effect me.

cant have a turbo or supercharged car until your off your p's.they also haves laws on power 2 weight ratios 4 certain cars so p platers cant drive them.

the new young driver laws say that u arent allowed to modify even the stock motor so ca18 is out, if i were u id build up a mad looking car with big diff and brakes and gearbox tunnell, nice paint interior, then when ur off ur p's chuck in the turbo ca18 uve been working on the whole time ....

DVLDAT, if you had your P's before the new rules came in you can still drive it. There was a mad rush the week before these laws came in when all the young wogs and Asians realised they weren't gonna be able to drive their turbo charades or R33's oe whatever other crap they run around in.

doesnt matter if you had the car before the legistation came in, but if you did its possible to get a certificate from the rta that will allow you to do so as long as you have no other car to drive. Happened to my sister, with a supercharged commy

Does this rule pass right though Aussie or just certain states? Putting a CA18DE in isn't a bad idea, if you want to go turbo later on it would be a straight bolt in for the CA18DET.
