hey guys,
I'm looking to do some fairly extensive cutting to the body of a car, whats the best air tool tool assist me? I've seen Air body saw's they look like a small recipricol saw, or then I've seen a nibbler (do they even cut?)

Cheers for any help

Damo

I helped my mate cut the tunnel of his ute in about 20 minutes using an air hacksaw type thing, they go fast in a line but not so good for cutting round corners they just use a normal hacksaw blade and are bloody loud and aso go through a few blades.

I use an air hacksaw also. I just use normal hacksaw blades cut down to size. The proper blades go to a point and are good for cutting corners, just like a jigsaw. I just use tin snips and cut the hacksaw blade just like a proper blade.
Best tool is a 1mm thick 4inch cutoff wheel fitted to a diegrinder or an anglegrinder.

Nibblers are good tools. Mad for cutting corrigated iron sheet. They cut a line and waste about 5mm of metal. Only problem is they are only good for cutting moveable sheet. ( basically needs to push one part of the metal away just like using tin snips except not so bad.) No good for cutting rust out of a panel. You would have to cut a big hole befor you could use the nibbler.

u would be surprised how well nibbler's cut ive used em at tafe on sheet metal, maybe no good for tunnel as its a few layers, and is usually coveered in all sorts of #### like glue for carpet, sound deadener and tar on the bottom. a normal jigsaw is good i cut out a bonnet very easily.
