I just did the swap from the 1200 front sway bar (17mm) to the 120Y (20mm) one, and what a difference it makes I can't believe the difference I can finally go around corners at a decent speed.
For anyone who's looking for a quick and cheap handling improvement this is the way to go ,it cost me $10 and about an hour mucking around at the wreckers and swapping them when I got home ,and I found out my front end has nolathane bushes everywhere.
Now if I can only get it to stop I'll be sitting pretty.

Hey Autokat where did you pick it up for $10. Last time I went to the wreckers they wanted $50 and I haven't much luck finding someone who is actually selling.

I really want to do this conversion to stiffen the front up a bit.

Freak,

The wreckers at Beams Rd, Carseldine had a heap of 120Y there when I was last there. Might pay to give them a call and see what they want for one.

How did you go with the lowering blocks? I got a set from Sydney (e-bay) for $40 cheaper than anything I could find around Bris. They are in and work a treat.

Did the same on my sedan so I loosened them and pulled the sway bar forward and retightened them now it has a 7-8mm gap .

Try that.

must be upside down? The 'dip' in the middle of the sway bar goes downwards - umm, otherwise it's not a 'dip'

What were some of the places around Brisbane that were selling the lowering blocks. I need to know some names so i can start looking.

tHE "DIP" was down. It made a fantastic difference, but the vibration transfer made my fillings fall out.
The bar was out of a car that had enjoyed a smack in the kisser.
I layed the other 120Y bar I have over the top of the ute bar while it was out, and they seemed to me to be quite different. I would really like to use them, but I can't see how to make it work.
When the car travels down on the suspention it presses on the front of the sump. It wouldn't go on the other way up.
