I think you should get your tape measure out & measure the drag strip.
Post up your time cards

Wouldn't a 10,000 rpm normally aspirated A14 accomplish this?

well theoretically a 160hp A series in a 750kg car should run mid 13 seconds but getting the power down is another story, light cars don't grip to well off the line but when they do they accelerate fantastic

Me thinks its time to get into the ring and assist a fellow South African.

I can mention that the car has a comp of 13,5 : 1.
He runs a toyota gearbox and a Alfa diff.
He also uses sidedraught webers and racing fuel.
With that comp I think it is possible.

Mennesh.
Can't you put it for us on a dyno?
I am very curious to see what power and torque figures you get.

My my you Dattomasters are a cynical lot, surely you all know it is reasonably easy
to get the sort of mumbo out of a 1400
to propell one over the quarter in the time claimed. After all we where getting 150 h.p.
out of bored 1200's as used in clubmans
and the old formula 3 cars, granted they could be hand grenades if you got carried away. One should'nt laugh at 10000 rpm
either,we more often than not see 9000
rpm in our little club car.So imagine this thing
in s.a. with say 15" wheels,slicks,jacked up
for max.weight transfer, real soft back springs
and very short alfa diff ratio(apparantly) i recon its a chance in the right hands

I believe it's possible but anythings possible if you have the right cash spent on all the parts to hold the power down to the ground, I would love to see a video of the run if any body knows where to find one, what does it take to pull 10,000RPM? roller rockers, double valve springs, roller timing kit, balanced bottom end, electric water pump, electric fuel pump, full crank angle ignition syatem???? jeeeeeeeeeze the list would never end!
