Its a 1963 N320 Ute

thank you
will take a photo of the E1 engine tomorrow
Still thinking if I should drop a different engine or just leave it stock
I like the idea of living it stock but would prefer it to have a little bit more grunt

Oooh, I like that.

For more grunt, you could use an J15 with a few minor 'improvements', like home made extractors & a slightly bigger carb.[dd Weber?] Shave the head a little & you have power to burn. Well, OK, maybe it will be just a little more peppy, but it would still be better.
I have a friend with a 520 flatbed with J15, mild cam, single sidedraught Weber, extractors, & shaved head. You'd be surprised at just how well it runs.

I see this ute with some Sunrasia type wheels [flame cut steel plate centers] & some readily available rubber [Falcon/ 'doore sizes, big 'n littles] for a nice little pick-up in the appearance stakes.
The way I see it, thats adding power, style, class, & attitude,... all on a budget.

Now, if you could find an old Eddie Thomas or Speco floor shift conversion, she'd be ready to race.

Nah, it doesn't count. This site is for the B-size Datsun 1200s, starting in 1970 ... would be more appropriate for the Off-Topic forum

Anyways, I too posted one a couple of days ago: Datsun L320 ute My bad. Sorry about that.

Stunning, I have been toying around with whether or not to change the colour of mine during its restoration cant find info on the history of colours. I have the same year but the tray is separate, in a very faded blue. Seeing yours all shiney has made my day.
