Oooh, I like that.
For more grunt, you could use an J15 with a few minor 'improvements', like home made extractors & a slightly bigger carb.[dd Weber?] Shave the head a little & you have power to burn. Well, OK, maybe it will be just a little more peppy, but it would still be better. I have a friend with a 520 flatbed with J15, mild cam, single sidedraught Weber, extractors, & shaved head. You'd be surprised at just how well it runs.
I see this ute with some Sunrasia type wheels [flame cut steel plate centers] & some readily available rubber [Falcon/ 'doore sizes, big 'n littles] for a nice little pick-up in the appearance stakes. The way I see it, thats adding power, style, class, & attitude,... all on a budget.
Now, if you could find an old Eddie Thomas or Speco floor shift conversion, she'd be ready to race.
