I never use them for that reason, i've blown a few monotorque head gaskets but haven't since i stopped using them! espeically with a forced fed set-up. Go for a Nismo gasket, you can't go wrong! make sure the head is dead flat and it should be all good.

yea well i cant justify $180 for a fibre head gasket when i could make copper ones for less, the hole for the bolt that there is supposed to be oil feed past is tight on the bolt so oil would struggle to feed past. and all the silicon sealant for the aluminium side is printed on the wrong side of the gasket.

I have been using them on my racecar engines for years without any probs. Unless this is a new issue with the gasket manufacturing process, i had always given them the thumbs up.

yes the Nismo ones for balls out, and even GX ones for hotties, but monotorque all day for everything else,

do you have pics of the faults? have you told ACL?

why is the silicone supposed to go up? there's just as much underneath the gasket??

I used monotorque on my A14 for a few seasons of supersprints and never had a drama, I used a chinese one once and it shat itself big time. But never had a drama with the ACL ones. Use a nismo one now due to 79mm offset bores.
