want to put a L-series in a 120y for a mate, what crossmember????
im pretty sure theres a crossmember that allows me to put it straight in, but cant remember which? was it stanza, i dunno
where would i find a 5-speed to bolt up to the back of it??? (which car are they in?)
whats my best diff option? H190 if car has flares sound about right? ratio?

other plans for it include, stanza struts, bluey disc over drums for the back and 14 or 15" wheels, maybe ill try the sunny booster, urvan master combo on it , front discs depend on budget but either 200b or hi-lux -spots with pintara disc

Whats the best motor, L18 yeah? or would this have to be engineered, i know the 120y came with L16 in japan but not sure about L18, would it not have to be engineered if L16 is o.k. anyway?

anything else???

I'm pretty sure that you would have to get it engineered.
I think 1.6 is a big as you can go without engineering in one of those.
I knew a guy who did this and he then filed off the "L20" and used those indenting letter/number things to hammer "L16" in instead. This was a while ago and in another state though. Probably best to check it out with an RTA dude...

That is one of the plans I had for my 120Y. My 610 has a L20B and I am thinking about getting a engine for the 610 (SR20 or 20B rota), so the L20 would go into the 120Y. Not yet though, money is not here yet, but I was told the 180B motormount and suspension(610 Datsun) works perfect, direct bolt on. Correct me if wrong. The 610 I have (180B) is fast, so I assume the 120Y would fly with the L20. I will check for an address of a guy in Europe whom installed a L18 into a 120Y, also there is a orange 120Y w/ a L20B.
I'll be back.

Glad to help. I am into doing that swap too so keep us posted. I can hit two bulbs with one stone if I get one engine for the 610 and the L20B for the B210. The A15 will go into the Ute. If I had more $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.....I would have my Datsun armada ready for war!!!!!!!
