Hy ddgonzal, you're right, tire rack has some 225's, even 245/45/13's, Hoosier among other brands, but those , unfortunately, are competition tires, and being the driver freak I am, love to drive, those competition tires would not last a month. The 14 inch tires are too big for my style, if lowering the car, unless big fender work is done,or if I could get 215/50/14's, which are not available for the street, only competition, which are not cheap, but will not last, I have no problem in spending money well saved ,but if the tires will be gone in 3 months, it is not worth it.The only size around in 50 series 14 inch is nice, but too big for the front , (in the back, being a RWD car it can work, but if lower height is wanted, extensive wheel opening is needed to sink the car onto these tires)probably would work in the 610, but not in the 1200 or B210, I have at home (in my 610 which is stock height as of now) 205/55/14 at the rear , not rubber enough, and taller than I want, right now I have 215/50/13 all around in my B210, lowered, and work fine, the ute lives in a rally land, beach/desert area, so that one does not need the 235's,but 610 will need 235's when lowered, even the B210 at the rear, so I want to explore and get 4 235/50/13 and try them on the lowered 610, and even the B210 will work better with the 235's at the rear. I like the racy look, and also the efficiency you get from this tires, low and plenty of rubber for cornering. The only tires in market in US(streetable), are the 215/50/13 which I have, excelent tires, and the 245 &265/50/14. That size (245) I had years ago in a VW bus w/ flat 6 engine, car which got stolen(%$#@!*#@!!!) and might work in the 610 rear, too big for the front, but still I want to get the 235's, that size is the best combination of traction, tread and power. You mention 225/50/14, I believe that is a competition tire, I have not found a streetable tire in that size over here.
New Zeland has the 235's, I've been told Holden cars use them. We use to have them in US, but after the big wheel fad, everybody is into big wheels , skinny tires, I understand and respect others tastes. I like a Datsun with low, tready tires, racy, strong look,.Datsuns are small cars, at least in the wheel opening area,(our older models, newer cars have large openings, taylormade for bigger size wheels) what fits a Skyline is not necesarilly good in a smaller Datsun, and vice/versa, a Skyline w/ 13"tires would not be cool.I have a new buddy in town who has a sedan 1200, and he also wants 235's, perhaps more tires will make a bigger order, even a trend for the better. Thanks for your comments, and keep your Datsun up & running!
