I've been teasing Maggie that we should get this one so we have a pair of yellow 1200's, one of each model that was available in the US. Comment was something about not needing 4 garage queens plus a daily driver for 2 people. She has an '84 BMW 628 European gray market car.
I don't think I could get 3 1200's in my 1 car garage though. It was a challenge getting 2 of them in there...

$2500 New advert: http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/cto/1294370251.htmlQuote: Datsun 1200 Coupe - $2500 (Oregon) Date: 2009-07-28, 6:55PM PDT Reply to: sale-fhnfc-1294370251@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]
1973 Datsun 1200 Coupe. 5-Speed (from 210, not "dogleg"). Weber. Header. New tires - still have "nubs". Rare factory rear window defogger. This car was redone several years ago. The interior is now cloth, and is holding up well. All glass is good, all lights function. The paint is bubbling through in a few places - but has not rusted through the sheet metal. Car runs well, doesn't smoke, leak, burn oil, steer funny or have any major issues. The dash pad is cracked in one place, (but the glove box door is not rotted!), the stereo is marginal at best, and cigar lighter is inop. The floor pans and rocker panels are solid - this is not a rusty wreck. So, if you are an enthusiast who would like to get your hands on a scarce Datsun model and take it to a higher level, this is a great starting point. Or, if you would just like a fun, economical car that looks cool and will run for years to come, buy my Datsun. Thanks for looking.

1200 Coupe: Good example of scarce Datsun model. 5-Speed Transmission, Weber carburetor. Header & performance exhaust system. Factory rear window defogger. All lights function. New tires (nubs still on 'em). Not flawless, (what would you expect from a 36 year-old economy car?) but not a rusty or crashed and rebuilt old mess either. (Still has all original window glass). Nice cloth interior. (Yes, the dash pad has a crack on top. No, the glove box door is not rotted to pieces). All in all, a good example. Good for a daily driver, or an excellent starting point for an enthusiast who wants to shoot for a total redo. Runs out well, drives, steers, stops like it should. Take it for a drive - you'll want it for your own. Thanks for looking.
