Car swerves when braking

On my FWD car, whenever i hit the brakes, the car swerves to the right. Harder i brake, harder it swerves. Diagnostics were done by jacking up the car ( both front tires on the air ), revved the engine till the tires were spinning at 120km/h, then hit hard on the brakes. I observed that the left tire stops completely only after the right tire stops first. The delay is abt 1 to 1.5seconds.

My previous rotor and calipers gave the same problem. And using new discs and calipers also didnt solve this issue. Calipers were serviced, but no improvement.

One idea is a balance and wheel alignment but im a rear wheel driver so thats not in concrete.

Balance is perfect. Alignment is perfect too. Disc/rotor is not bent. The lower arm is good, and all the joints ( absorber / steering / arm ) is excellent.

Basically, mild braking is good, but giving it a little more pressure causes the car to swerve.

could be blockages in the fluid lines. Have they been bled thru with clean fluid of the correct dot rating?

That was exactly what i suspected. And so, i bled it...again and again with the correct dot rating. Problem still there.

Can there be any chances of a solid piece of sludge clogging the passage? Perhaps i should loosen up both end connections and blow with compressed air. Will this work?

How does the brake fluid look? If it is dirty flush the whole system, it doesn't take much fluid only time. Avoid the urge to use a silicone based fluid (DOT 5). If your car isn't fitted for it you will wreck the whole show. Are you positive you haven't got a disorted caliper? Alloy ones do get this but they often get sticky first. Check balance regulator if fitted. Check control arm inner bushes and radius rods. I have seen cars pull to one side with worn bushes, under braking load you can get more than normal lateral movement which can cause the car to pull. Just some ideas

Heyy frog, thanks alot for the info's ....BUT :-

i) Brake fluid's colour is red ( or shall i say it's how it's supposed to be ). DOT rating is also correct. Fluid was flushed abt 4 months ago.

ii) Caliper is not distorted. Im saying so because initially, i was using a pair of different discs and calipers. It pulled to the right too when i hit the brakes. Then, i changed to larger discs and 2 pot calipers ( serviced ). Same symptom happened.

iii) Abt your tips on arms and worn bushes:- As i mentioned in my post above, even if the car is jacked up ( front 2 wheels up ), and when i rev the engine till the wheels get up to 120kmh, hittin the brakes causes the right wheel to stop first. And abt 1 sec later, the left wheel stops. Now, do you think the arms and bushes comes into play for this scenario ( where the car is jacked up )?

What kind of car is it?

I ask because I have heard of ABS equipped cars engaging the ABS at differing intervals. What I'm getting at is that under these circumstances it is possible that under heavier braking the control module (?) is telling one side to engage unnecessarily.

Also, how's your camber? An old Falcon of mine used to pull one way or another under braking. It had 17x8s, so due to the amount of camber needed to squeeze the fronts in the guards it used to follow the contours of the road under brakes (at least that's what I was told, sounded plausible).

Sorry for the missing info. It's non-ABS equipped.

Camber is -0.2 on both sides. Castor and toe-in settings are normal factory setting. Car running on 14" rims.

Visual inspection shows that no rods/arms were bent. Bushes are in good condition too.

Sounds like you've covered every conceivable angle, maybe it's just one of those things. All cars have their little nuances, that's why we love 'em!!
