After pulling my Bilsteins out the right rear is definitely not happy and even though they are rebuildable the cost really doesn't justify it here in little old NZ where everything costs drug money...This certainly explains why I haven't been too happy with the handling of the car.
Given that I have Konis in the front it would seem logical to try them in the rear and they are adjustable which would be a bonus.
After checking here with the agents I have been told that there are non in the country ( coupe ones part no. 80 1551 ) and that any would have to be specially ordered in and that would take 3-5 months!!
Can anyone please recommend any suppliers overseas that I could look at buying some off?
Cheers
Dave

I just had a look at that eBay item and noticed up the top left it says 'this item is out of stock'.

Suppose you could message them and see if/when they are going to get some more.

Otherwise, have a look at www.toperformance.com.au who are the Australian importers of Koni

Aren't the 80-1551 front shocks? Read the have an eyelet on the top instead of a threaded stud needed for the coupe?

Regardless I've had Koni Classics on the rear of my coupe since 1992 and have been very happy with them. They only have a rebound adjustment but they are what it's used back in the day and work well.

Of course should I win the lotto (that thing I never buy tickets for) I'll buy Ohlins.

Tom

Datsun 1200 front shocks?

1200 Coupe & Sedan both use threaded rod-type shocks. Wagon & Truck both use double-eye shocks

Koni 80 1551 rebound-adjustable

Good spotting Tom!!
That link that Benny flicked up certainly describes them as front shocks and 2 eyelits so whether or not someone has mucked up when placing that add...
DD- have you any idea where I might start looking for those 80-2359's?
I've looked on EBay and nothing and ran that number past our national Koni dealer here in NZ and no joy.
Cheers

Long time out of production

That photo is of a 1551, definitely not double-eye (and there is no front shock on a 1200) -- double-eye shocks are wagon/ute rear shocks
