Yup i really wanna do this now! My TAFE teacher is getting me 3 turbos for free!!! All from a Ford warinty bin but there should be a good one umungst them!. They are setup for 15psi standard.

What kind of PSI are you running? Do u thinnk 15 would blow the bottom end to peices?

Do you know what just made this 10x cooler? its in a 1000

I wanna do it!!!

ALSO!

What rad is that? Did you need to upgrade cooling with the turbo setup? What fuel system are you using?
So many questions...

Also when you develop this set up further, I read somewhere that a weber style trumpet has superior flow to the kind you have used.

A14 force, where did you read this?, I was under the impression that the "full radius" trumpets were the superior ones.

Having said that I doubt that ram tubes would even be useful in a forced induction setup.

looks awesome topgear,
id just like to know if youre running youre lsd diff centre in this car?
also a bit of advice, pull your turbo off and rotate youre housings so the oil feed line is right at the top it must be within 5 degrees of plum or after a while can back up, and for the small amount of work i think its worth while.
keep the updates coming i love this sorta news !!!

nice set up, like the trumpeted air box, works well for a turbo set up. Is this in the ratrod?

Also where did that radiator come from, very very nice indeed. Could you put us onto someone for them... might be what im looking for

This is the straight cut gearbox I am running that I made also...
I had a smooth case 4spd in my 1000Coupe with a worked A15 and never had an issue...
I ran the std 1000 gearbox in my Turbo car for 4 race meetings and never had an issue. The clutch was marginal which I think helped also as it would slip if you tried to flat change it, but if you changed gears quickly but normally it wouldnt slip, bit of a juggling act to drive fast

The radiator was a $100 aly core Camry radiator, I had to chop about 100mm off the length then weld the tanks on, another no budget project...

beattie- be aware that turbo size is very important, for example an SR20 (2ltr) turbo will be to big. If this makes boost on an SR at say 2500rpm onwards, it wont start to work till about 5000rpm, totally useless.
Perhaps the best thing to do is use a single turbo from a twin turbo Subaru, it should be ok for an A12 or A14.

Topgear I love your work so simple but works a treat I know of some guys who have out high tech twin cam turbos in there cars with not much better results. I would love to one day build a Tough A15t into a 1200 race car would handle soo much beter than my front heavy ca18.
Thanks for the pictures and updates of your work.

Very impressive power figure Topgear. The gearbox internals are a work of art too.
