As a side note - I notice the fuse cover is missing in the engine bay - I've had 4 coupes and have never seen one
They must not have been held on too well...
Also, this car has the exact same single rectangular mirror on the drivers door that my stocker has...
If you look carefully along the bottom edge of the picture, you will see that the fuse box cover is in place. That's one of the things that I checked when I looked at it.
Oh yeah, the oil filler cap is on backwards & the rocker cover has 'Datsun' pressed into it. My '68 model sedan's rocker cover was plain, but with a sticker on it that said 'Datsun 1000' which eventually fell off.
I wonder when they started pressing 'Datsun' into the rocker covers.

This is what the KB10 fuse box cover looks like if you have not seen one before.

This car was delivered, new, to a happy owner in Balwyn [Melbourne] on Monday, the 29th of Sept 1969, so if this is mirror was on the car from date of delivery, then it's not a 1200 one.[but it sure looks like one]
This car has never had the front guard mirrors fitted either, which supports my view that, when installed, they were fitted by the dealer during pre-delivery.
Is it possible that it is a Datsun1600/ 510 mirror?
If it really is a 1200 mirror, then perhaps it was fitted when the car was being serviced during the early part of its life, at owners request.
I also had a look at Ian's car which was just nearby & it looks to have never had the guard mirrors either, & it is serial numbered only 32 numbers earlier than this one. Both are ex-Melbourne cars I believe.
