I prefer the better quality plugs, like Platinum or Irridium as they will fire a spark across a given gap at a given compression pressure, at a lower voltage that standard plugs. These aren't exactly cheap, but the good stuff never is. On the upside, they might just outlast your engine.

Platinum plugs actually DON'T run as well as normal plugs. People just think they do because they cost so much. The reason they are used is because they last consderably longer (like 100,000+ kms). Mostly you won't notice the difference. I run Iridium's on my Subaru without a problem, but when I tried them on my 13B turbo the spark broke down at around 6500 rpm.
I've also read dyno tests that consistently show a drop in hp with platinums (stuff all, but still a drop).

Anyway, good to hear you're enjoying the Webers
Is that 100hp at the wheels? Cause thats pretty good!! My A15 with twin 40's made around the 65hp mark I think from memory

Oh my god i aint going back either...
I got my ute back from the tuners today, i couldnt be more pleased

Just the INSTANT response of the engine is priceless, its most definaltey a huge increase over the A15 i had in the sunny.
This cam is well suited for the twin 40's i have hanging off the side too..midrange power is awsome

Theres a nasty 'tick' tho coming from the back of the engine ive noticed, the tuners didn say anything but just on the way home i noticed it. Its not tappets but it sounds like its coming from the heater vent or PCV system... any ideas??

Im soooo happy right now

Pics coming.
Cheers
Dave

Check out your extractors...my pick is that you may have a leak on the rear flange plate where it bolts on to the head. If it is that the noise will be noticably worse under acceleration but hard to hear on idle.
Easy way to check is to use a length of small pipe (Like fuel line) hold 1 end up to your ear and hold the other end down around the flange while the engine is idling...you will hear even a pin hole easily by following right around the flange plate. Check them all.
