stronger! I like the 4.1 ratio better so I wanted to try keep it. But I gather with a a14gx motor I recon I'm goNa blow it heaps
You can fit the H150 differential into your ute axle housing if you use a 2mm spacer & a second gasket, but the lowest ratio available in Australia is 3.9 to 1 with a 3.7 to 1 as the only other available choice in this version of differential.
You could go to the larger H165 rear axle assembly, but you will need to get one from something like a series 1 or 2 Bluebird wagon & narrow it.
The 1200 ute rear axle assembly is about 2-1/2" wider than the 1000 & this is just enough to stuff up your wheel & tyre clearance, but the axles are too short to successfully re-spline if you have one of these & narrow it down. Better to use the cheaper & more readily available Bluebird one if narrowing is on the agenda.
The H145 will hold up behind an A14 if you 'drive' it, even in a spirrited or sporting style, but will fail in short order if you just plain 'abuse' it, so,.... just what is your driving style?
