hey guys,

was putting the auto motor together for datogal and i've had some problems

basically the whole lot was locked up and wouldn't turn over, too the box off and the motor will turn over, on the input end of the box the inside spline turns by hand but the outside one does not, i'm not sure what is supposed to happen though

on the output side the spline turns except when its in park it is locked up, which seems pretty normal

i did hae trouble getting the tranny on and had to crank it on with the bolts, so have quite possibly stuffed the box doing that

anyone with some auto knowledge can shed some light???

im currently in the search for another auto anyway cause i think i stuffed this one

With the auto you have to be carefull to get the torque converter properly engaged in the oil pump before tightening the bellhousing bolts.

IIRC there are 2 splined shafts that go into the torque converter. On the outside of the torque converter there area set of 2 flats that engage the torque converter oil pump.

If the torque converter was not engaged in the oil pump you may have munched the oil pump and possibly jammed the input shaft. Most likely a terminal condition.
