The blue one that had been on ebay was pretty scruffy, but it had the rare pickup bed on it, & depending on just how bad it was, this part alone may well have been worth the price of admission.
It looks to be saveable in the picture.

The pickup bed is the rarest body part of all, for reasons that might seem obvious.

I was very close to driving down to Victoria and picking that ute up, but with a close to 12 hr trip one way common sense got the better of me.

This morning i was driving home through Windsor in my Father in-laws ute with trailor full of soil and a red 520 drove past me in the opposite direction! The thing looked a little worse for wear and was carting a load of hay in the bed.
We were divided by a centre island and there was no way to turn around and give chase with the load i was carrying. I was so pissed, as this is the only one i have ever seen on our roads, and i would have offered to buy it from the owner

my ute is the same as the blue 1 below but its green and the bed was in extremly bad condition and got it panel beeted and they had to heat it the cool it really quikly so that it wouldnt strech any

Hey NYS I was bidding on that ute to. I missed out on it because The bidding finished while I was away working I think. You should have done it drive down there and rescue the poor old thing. Oh well hopefully it didnt end up at the scrapies. My 521 is getting there slowly. To much work and not enough play!!!

I gave up for a while and spent some more $$$ on my wrx (shit carbon fibre is expensive!)

I need to find a ute so i can stop spending money on my daily.
