does anyone know if you can buy new windshields (iI assume coupes & sedans are the same)in the US?
I did find some thru a classic glass company but to the tune of $900 US, a bit steep or has anyone had any luck polishing an old one & resurecting it?
Thanks, Evan

i would have thought you still be able to get them from the local windscreen shop.
ive never had a new windscreen myself, but ive heard whispers of people paying 160 odd dollars for a new one fitted.

apparently not in the US. I found a listing through a glass mfg. named Pilkington or something like that & thats where that ubsurd price came from. If you have a line on a local glass Co. in your area I can contact maybe it would be worth shipping one over.
Thanks, Evan

Hey Evan - just be aware that the coupe and sedan have different windshields. I would guess you could get something flown in from Aus for around US$400.

I came close to buying an $80 USD windshield from Australia but the shipping would have been around $400.
I'd prefere to spend the money traveling to Australia and then just carry the damn thing home. .

I havn't done it, but how much would a custom windshield place charge to make one. You know, all those hot rod guys have to go some where after they chop their tops, etc. Where do they get their windshields made?

thanks for all the input guys, I've got two vehicles to steal parts from but one w/s is cracked & the other has a scratch on the inside. If I could polish out the stratch that'd be great, not sure if its possible though.

Blue max, give me a call, if you've got a good w/s that might work, you're a hell of a lot closer then AU!

Oh yeah, you'd probably gert charger for an extra seat on the plane if you brought it back w/you.

Just so you all know, I spoke with Plikington Glass in Ohio today & they have 1200 Coupe w/s for $150 US ea. plus shipping. I was amazed, I had gotten a quote thru an autoglass Co. that was a Pilkington windshield & was quoted approx. $900 - pays to look around.
