What is the black bit called that holds the window in the door. It runs horizontally and it's made of a soft plastic.
And where can I get a set for my '74 120y wagon.

Is it the soft rubber with the felt on it coz that is the bailey channel rubber as Tyre fryer said or is it the weather strip that sits in line with the base of the quarter windows

Yeah I wish I knew how to post pictures into a thread. I can put em in my album. But I'm a bit of a techno dummy I'm afraid!!!
It's the bit on the outside of the window and it is attached to a chrome strip. Mine are way perished and scratching the outside of the window when i roll it up or down.It runs horizontal and i guess the purpose of it is to hold the bottom of the glass when the window is up, errrr. yeah of course to keep the rain out of yer door!!!
Thanks guys!

Arent they called weather strips? I am not sure. Try Peter Jacksons Old Auto Rubber Co. now known as Spectrum Rubber

Spectrum Rubber & Panels Pty Ltd

www.spectrumrubber.com.au

These guys are pretty good. I bought a new 1200 windscreen rubber from them a few years ago and it fit like a glove.
Good Luck.
