At least until now the mseums here have been real help when tracking some people and parts down.

I'm sure that if you call or go to visit if it's near enough they'll let you look under bonnet by request. And take some(million) pictures if there lies something that many of us are in intrest..

An acquaintance of mine has a complete 'AY' engine sitting on a trolley in his garage:







Note the 8 spark plug wires, and the angled distributor drive take-off. This engine consists of a lot more than just a cylinder head casting.......

If you need to conform to FIA homologation specs for your car then you will need to follow the homologated specs for the distributor drive too - which will be tricky to engineer if you do not have enough data / samples to reverse-engineer from.

You might even find that it is more cost-effective to buy a complete head kit / engine from Japan rather than making your own. Such things are available if you know the right people to approach and you have deep enough pockets.

And at least you would then have the real thing too, wouldn't you? You could consider it as an investment.

Ignoring the homologation requirements for ice racing
I'd still like one for my engine
Crank angle sensor instead of dizzy and efi would be the way I would go
I love the sound of webers but I think the modern gadgets would make this alot easier

When nowadays erything is awailable to everyone I don't want to be rude and say that haahaa I've got one but were should we get you one?

I'm completely sure that the pushrodsystem will be better when redesigned with new technologies to assist the project. Of course if you can get one in your hands that is complete, please take measurements and photos of it my friend.

I'm going to have a real head that has been in a race car in finland sponsored by datsun/nissan at year 1973. But something has got broken and lost. There was a time when old datsun parts was worth of nothing.

I don't need my car to be FIA homolocated but there is five historic rallycars that do.

I've just finished last project to historic drivers, building up factory spec close ratio 5-speed race gearboxes..

Engines like these really ought to be reunited with 'historic' cars ( or at least good replicas of them ) and you will find that there is rather a lot of sentimental value attached to them too. People who own stuff like this tend to want them to go to the 'right' home - if you see what I mean.

Thats for sure that these don't change owners on open market.

The owner of the all broken old rallycar which I got mine was impressed what the my car could do and how it was build.

Still, the remake is going to take place because there is so many who want's it. And Nissan is not going to assist us on the way. I have politely asked that also.

And I payed 1200euro's of the blank original.
I think was reasonable investment. The new one should be cheaper.
