Hmmmm, SOHC with 2 valves per cylinder. That sound fairly unique, so shouldn't be hard to identify, but a better description or a picture plus the full engine number would be a big help.

Where are you? Your name suggests either a New Zealander in Canada, or vice versa.

These manufacturers have created mass market engines of that description: Ford, Nissan, Toyota, Chrysler, Fiat, Subaru, Pontiac... and almost everyone else.

the fact its a z series engine, z18 or z20
