just looking at a site with datto accesories

SWR

they have a brake bias valve for $160

is this a good price?

also, to put it in is there anything else i need and how do you plumb it in??? (i.e. what pipes have to run to where?)

i was thinking it might be a good idea to do this at the same time i do my hrdraulic handbrake

Thats about average. I sell my willwoods for that.
Make sure you get the adaptor fittings that go into it though.
Otherwise its off to repco for some pluming.
Do you need to bias brakes off the rear ?
I would have thought a rally car would want more rear brakes.

Do you need one ?
What size rear cylinders are you running ?

i got stanza fronts and vanette backs, dunno the size of the cylinders all i know is the front locks very easy and it would be handy to have anyway cause i can use it on other cars later on

i would prefer the back to lock slightly easier than the front

I run a brake bias valve in the rally car. It is located near the handbrake and can adjust the amount of rear brakes. All my fuel and brake lines are inside the car so fitting the brake bias valve seems like it wasnt too hard.

does the brake bias valve just run on the pipe to the rears. Turning it up or down to give more or less on the front

is that how they all work?

That's my understanding on how they work.
I know they only mess around with the back, because my brother's bias valve is mounted in the boot.

i think ill get one, ive had a few hairy moments out in the bush where the front has locked and all she wants to do is go forward

the valve will save me in replacing panels but mostly my lights as i have over $300 worth of lights hanging off the front

Yep, just as you said 1200rc, the bias valve is simply plumbed into the brake line. If your fronts are locking first then if you place a bias valve on the rears wont you only be able to decrease the power of the back brakes? Wouldnt you be better off having it on the front brakes so that you can tweak the pressure to the fronts down a bit so they dont lock up so quickly?

The bias valve in the rear line will only reduce the rear pressure. It won't stop your probs with the front. In fact it will make it worse.
Don't fit the valve to the front either. All that doing is reducing the ability of the brakes overall.
If you want more rear brake you need to fit larger wheel cylinders.

Thats what I was trying to say about the bias valve reducing rear pressure : )

Are you running a brake booster of any type?
