Yeah, might have done it myself, except I got main job to do that doesn't give me a lot of 9to5 time to chase metal suppliers or make mistakes, or hot forge the bar ends..

Cost $180.
I supplied a standard 1200 bar, and told them to add an inch to the front, and make it 23mm.

Oxy set is a annual cost of $200-$300 in NSW for bottle rental. I'm a computer nerd who can't claim it on tax.

True, bottle rental is a pain in the a--e,BOC know how to charge and always did,i personally choose to pay the succers on a monthly basis and return them at every opportunity as i use oxy/acc mig and argon so the bill can get out of hand if i don't keep a handle on it.
Having said that virtually everything for the 3 cars and a fourth 3/4 finished that have been built and prepared out of my shed on weekends and at night has been fabricated in house.
I reckon if i had had to pay others for thier services i believe i would of spent about the same as a block of flats in Sydney over the years as opposed to a small unit and i still own the gear.
To make this happen you also need an outstanding wife/partner and big dog to protect it all
