For drag racing you need no extra license, besides a normal drivers license.

For motorkhana & circuit you need a CAMS license. www.cams.com.au

All you need to do is fill out the form for a level 2S license and they send you one in the mail.

Although to get a CAMS license you need to also be a member of a car club. But they're all listed on the CAMS website too.

Can you still get a CAMS license from them....or do you have to be a CAMS club to give them out?

Unfortunatly you can only get a level 2 licence(which you need for sprints etc.)through a CAMS affiliated club.Perhaps at some stage in the future the Queensland club may be come affiliated.
In the meantime i am a member of an affiliated club set up for Queensland people wanting licenses only, membership is very cheap and is non profit-you get nothing else, your fees simply cover the outgoing charges imposed by CAMS for the club to stay financial.

That sounds like a good idea Rob.

I wonder if South Australia has something similar...
